French rail operator launches renewable energy unit, plans 1GW of solar
French rail operator SNCF said this week that it has set up a new clean energy division, SNCF Renouvelables, with plans to develop 1 GW of photovoltaic power plants on its 1,000 hectares of land, aiming to meet 20% of its electricity needs by 2030.
