Pexapark: Record number of European power purchase agreements in 2023
In 2023, the European PPA market broke the original record in both the number of agreements signed and the capacity of contracts signed. According to a report by Swiss consulting firm Pexapark, 16.2GW of contracted capacity was disclosed in 2023, an increase of 40% from the previous year. The total number of PPA transaction announcements reached 272, an increase of 65% compared with 2022. The total volume of solar PPAs is four times the total onshore and offshore wind capacity, accounting for 10.5GW across 160 transactions.
