Southeast Asia’s photovoltaic and wind power installed capacity will grow by 20% in 2023
ASEAN (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) will add 3 GW of new capacity in 2023, according to Carbon Brief citing data from a new report by Global Energy Monitor (GEM). Solar photovoltaic installed capacity increased by 17% compared with 2022. ASEAN wind power installed capacity will be 2 GW in 2023, a growth rate of 29%. Combined in 2023, the installed solar and wind power generation capacity in the ASEAN region will increase by 20%, with a total installed capacity of more than 28 GW.
