Southeast Asia’s wind power and photovoltaic installed capacity exceeds 28GW
A recent research report titled "Struggle for the Top of Southeast Asia in 2024" released by the non-profit organization Global Energy Monitor (GEM) pointed out that currently, the installed wind and solar capacity in Southeast Asia has increased by 20% and has exceeded 28GW! The main reason is that Southeast Asian countries have set ambitious renewable energy targets and the falling cost of wind and solar power has made them more competitive with fossil fuel power generation facilities.
